Replacement

A new roof, built while the house is empty

A whole roof is the right answer when the repairs have stopped keeping up. We plan it for October through May, when guests are gone and the weather is workable, strip it, check the deck, and lay the new roof to match the house.

  • Deck checked and priced per sheet before it is replaced

  • Copper valleys and flashings made new

  • Landscaping and neighbors' driveways protected

How the job runs

A re-roof, in the order it happens

  1. 01

    Set up

Tarps over plantings, a dumpster placed, access for the crew agreed.

  2. 02

    Strip and look

The old roof comes off. We look at the deck and show you what we find.

  3. 03

    Deck repair

Boards replaced at the per-sheet price on your contract.

  4. 04

    Underlayment and flashings

The layers that keep water out when the roof surface does not.

  5. 05

    Lay the roof

Cedar, slate or copper, to match.

  6. 06

    Clean up and walk through

Magnet sweep, a walk with you or a photo report, and the warranty paperwork.

Timing

Why the off-season is the right season

  • Nobody on the roof's other side

No guests below, no rental changeover to work around.

  • Weather you can plan on

Fall and spring have working days. A dry cedar roof is laid dry.

  • Dates you can hold

Plan members choose first. Others get the next open dates.

Start with a visit

We walk the roof, check the attic and write down what we find before any number.
